Ecuador

The Ecuador strain is believed to have originated in the Andean region of Ecuador, and is known for its distinctive appearance, with a short and stubby stem and a broad, bell-shaped cap. This strain is considered to be a "classic" strain of psilocybin mushrooms and is highly sought after by those looking for a potent psychedelic experience.

Enigma

The Enigma is an exotic variety that does not produce mushroom fruiting bodies but instead produces a blob-like mycelial formation that resembles a brain and coral. Enigma does not sporulate, and therefore it is more difficult to propagate. This, along with increased potency and a longer growing period makes it a very rare and desirable strain.

Blue Meanies

Pay close attention here: we're going to be talking about two different Blue Meanies mushrooms. Both are hallucinogenic, but are from different species and should be treated somewhat differently. Though both are psilocybin-containing fungi, one variety is consistently reported to be more potent than the other. Knowing which Blue Meanies mushroom you're ingesting, and the differences between the two, is what we're going to help with in this review.

Thrasher PE

When finding psychedelic mushrooms in Northwest states, the Thrasher PE (Penis Envy) is an “exceptionally stable” choice. Thrasher is a variant of a variant, originating with the Homestead or Melmac PE (named for the home planet of the titular alien in the sitcom ALF) variety of the Penis Envy mushroom. The name Homestead comes from an early 1980s spore vendor in the Pacific Northwest, where the Penis Envy mushroom is thought to have originated.

Mazatapec

Mazatapec is a great introductory shroom strain. There is debate as to which is the better beginner, Mazatapec vs Golden Teacher. Mazatapecs offer excellent visual hallucinations, a euphoric and connected mood, and are not nearly as intense as some of their more potent cousins. The name “Mazatapec” is actually a misspelling because this mushroom strain originates from the Mazatec area of Mexico. The incorrect spelling stuck, however, so when you're searching out information about the Mazatapec, be sure to include both Mazatapec and Mazatec mushroom strain. This strain is also colloquially referred to as ‘Maz’.

Albino A+

The Albino A+ p. cubensis is not a true albino strain, but a “leucistic” mushroom. This means that it has lost a lot, but not all, of its pigment. Albino A+ potency is considered high, and we would not recommend it for beginning psychonauts. These pseudo-albino shrooms, just one of the types of albino psyilocybe cubensis, have a light cream color on their stems and a darker cream colored cap. For more info on these albino shrooms, and an Albino A+ trip report, read on!

Liberty Caps

A 1983 monograph called the Liberty Cap “the world's most widespread psilocybin mushroom.” It has been identified in 18 different countries around the globe. Their long, thin stems and golden, pointed caps are among the most familiar psychoactive mushrooms. As a potent shroom, it's important to ask questions like, how many liberty caps do you need? Or how many grams of liberty caps are appropriate for a beginner? Don't worry. We've got you covered.

Golden Teacher

The Golden Teacher mushroom strain is one of the more popular psilocybin mushroom strains. Its relatively low potency, and its ease of cultivation, make it an excellent choice for the beginning psychonaut. I recommend this kind of low-potency shroom before you dive into the deep end of something like Penis Envy or Ghost. Golden Teachers are a gentle but profound entry point to the world of psychedelics. Read on for some Golden Teacher strain info.

Avery’s Albino

Avery's Albino is a genetically-isolated cultivar of Cambodian Psilocybe cubensiscubensis varieties, a relative newcomer to the magic mushroom market. Boasting “great psychedelic effects,” and with a potency not too high for the beginning user, Avery's Albino is a great, mellow choice for camping or relaxing social situations.

Avery's Albino mushrooms are often referred to as "albino shrooms" or simply "Avery's."

If you are considering using Avery's Albino mushrooms or any other psychedelic substance, it is important to do your research and educate yourself about the potential risks and benefits. It is also important to be aware of the legal status of these substances in your area.

Albino Penis Envy

Although many shrooms claim to be “more potent than usual,” only one is so infamous that it's changed the phrase “A cube is a cube” to include “...except for Penis Envy.” Also known as PE, these so-called “penis mushrooms” have a history full of interesting twists, and are consistently reported to be magnitudes stronger than other psilocybin-containing mushrooms. When PE was crossed with - most likely - Albino A+ Psilocybe cubensis, the result was a strain more potent than the most potent. When you're looking to buy Penis Envy cubensis, exercise caution!

Ghost

The Ghost mushroom, also called “Ghost True Albino Golden Teacher,” is a rare and powerful variety of P. cubensis. Called by many a “particularly beautiful” variety of psilocybe, the caps sport slight ripples along the edges, and the stems and caps bruise a metallic blue when touched, a testament to their high potency.

S.A.T.

Psilocybe cubensis Tranksei originates from the coast of South Africa. Said to be quite a bit more intense than most other strains, reports from users include both closed eye and open eye visuals. The Transkei is a mushroom for experienced users, as it packs a bit more psilocybin punch than many other species. As with most psilocybin-producing fungi, African Transkei produces in the psychonaut a sense of connection to the world and the people in it. They are also known for being sensation-enhancing mushrooms that can alter the way you perceive sound and visuals, produce geometric shapes, as well as ‘dancing lights’ perceptions.
